How to use these templates
Copy any structure below into a blank Word or Google Docs file. Use a single-column layout, black text, and standard section headings. Do not use downloaded 'creative' templates with columns, images, or graphics — most ATS parsers strip them incorrectly.
Template 1 — Classic Chronological (best default)
- Full Name
- City, State • (555) 555-5555 • you@email.com • linkedin.com/in/yourname
- SUMMARY — 2–3 lines about your target role and top strengths.
- SKILLS — Excel, QuickBooks, 10-Key (12,000 KPH @ 98%), Typing (65 WPM @ 99%), Outlook.
- EXPERIENCE — Company | City, ST — Job Title — Month YYYY–Present.
- • Verb + task + number.
- • Verb + task + number.
- EDUCATION — School — Degree/Diploma — Year.
- CERTIFICATIONS — QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, MOS Excel Associate.
Template 2 — Skills-Forward (for career changers)
- Full Name + contact block.
- SUMMARY — highlight transferable skills and target role.
- CORE SKILLS — 6–10 hard skills, grouped by category.
- SELECTED PROJECTS / VOLUNTEER — bullets showing you've done the work, even if unpaid.
- EXPERIENCE — condensed job history.
- EDUCATION — degree/diploma or in-progress certifications.
Template 3 — Entry-Level (first office job)
- Full Name + contact block.
- SUMMARY — mention typing and 10-key numbers and one strong soft skill.
- EDUCATION — first, since it's your strongest credential.
- RELEVANT SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS — MOS, QBO, courses from 10KeyTrainer.com.
- EXPERIENCE — retail, restaurant, or internship work with bullets that emphasize accuracy, customer service, and reliability.
What to save it as
Save as PDF with a filename in the format 'FirstName LastName Resume.pdf'. Send that file unless the posting specifically requests .docx.
